# Prompt variable filler

Paste a template with {{variables}}, fill the gaps in a form or from spreadsheet rows, and get finished prompts ready to copy, one per row.

## How to fill a template

Write or paste your template on the left. Every `{{name}}` becomes a variable, listed in the order it first appears, and a variable used twice is filled once. Give one a default with `{{name|default text}}` and it is used whenever you leave that variable empty. Names may hold letters, numbers, underscores, dots and hyphens, and matching ignores case.

In form mode, type a value for each variable and the prompt updates as you go. In CSV mode, paste rows copied from a spreadsheet, or a CSV file whose header row names the variables; each row becomes one prompt. Columns match variables by name, ignoring case, spaces and hyphens, so a First Name column fills `{{first_name}}`. Variables without a column use their default or stay in braces so you can see the gap.

### Downloads

Copy all joins the prompts with a line of three dashes. The CSV download adds a prompt column to your original rows, ready to open in a spreadsheet, and JSONL gives one JSON object per line for scripts and batch APIs.

## Good to know

- Any template in the library opens here with Fill from a spreadsheet.
- Quoted CSV fields can hold commas and line breaks.
- The page shows the first 200 prompts; downloads include every row.

## Questions

**What variable syntax is supported?**

Double braces: `{{name}}`, with optional spaces inside, and `{{name|default}}` for a default value. Single braces such as `{name}` are left alone and flagged, because they often appear in code and JSON.

**My spreadsheet has more columns than the template needs. Is that a problem?**

No. Extra columns are ignored when filling, but kept in the CSV download so you can match each prompt back to its row.

**How many rows can I fill at once?**

Thousands; the limit is your device's memory rather than a fixed number. The page shows the first 200 prompts and the downloads contain all of them.

**Is my data uploaded?**

No. Templates, rows and finished prompts stay in this browser tab, and nothing is kept after you close it.
